2008 Club Auction and Chili Dinner
Nov. 15, 2008
Thanks to overwhelming participation, our annual Auction and Chili Supper was a
great success. The agenda began
with the big meal, and it was big, indeed.
With dozens of dishes, including homemade chilis, salads and deserts,
everybody had plenty of good food and drink --- I’m certain no one went hungry.
After a brief club meeting, the auction began.
Auctioneer Bob Love and his able assistants hawked hundreds of
member-donated items over the next couple of hours.
Some were car-related, including books, new and used parts, pictures and
plaques. Also, there were gift
certificates, clothes, appliances and an endless stream of knick-knacks.
Bargains were bought by many, and a great time was had by all.
The supper and auction were housed in the O’Rourke’s newly built garage,
so we were all protected from the chilly wind and the brief rain.
